New Cleanroom Capabilities at Spectrum Wisconsin Facility
Spectrum Plastics Group, a DuPont Business (“Spectrum”), a global solutions provider for development through scaled manufacturing of critical polymer-based components and devices for medical and other demanding markets, has just announced new cleanroom capabilities at the Pleasant Prairie, WI facility. This world-class cleanroom is the cleanest and most technically advanced medical tubing facility. As a manufacturer and a development partner for its customers, the cleanroom capability investment allows the company to accommodate customer demands more rapidly.
The cleanroom facility in Wisconsin is an ISO Class 7 room that has a total of 8,200 square feet of controlled environment with an availability of up to 9 extrusion lines for extruding medical tubing for fluid management and surgical applications. We will continue to build upon our materials expertise in PVC and other medical thermoplastics at this site. All the equipment is new and best-in-class technology, including standard inspections. Specialized processes are used such as oil-free compressed air and a reverse osmosis water system to adhere to the standard of excellence customers expect and require.
Here are some other key reasons the WI cleanroom is important:
Spectrum’s Wisconsin facility is used for manufacturing a variety of applications and the use of the cleanroom is based on many factors such as the end-product being produced and sterile requirements. The Wisconsin facility is also ISO 9001:2015, ISO 13485:2016, and ISO FSSC22000 certified.
“We are excited to support growth with our key customer partners and our expanded footprint. This ISO Class 7 Cleanroom geographically expands our product offerings by Spectrum as a contract development and manufacturing organization to the Medical Device Industry through our Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin site” says Chris Brewster, SVP and GM for FM/Flexibles.
