Spectrum Plastics Group Announces Mexicali Cleanroom Expansion

Mexicali cleanroom expansion is designed to support the growth in full-service medical offerings with a dedicated area for new projects in extruded medical tubing and assembly operations

ALPHARETTA, GA — Spectrum Plastics Group ("SPG," "Spectrum" or the "Company"), a leading, global medical device contract manufacturer, is announcing the cleanroom expansion at its Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico location. The cleanroom expansion is designed to support the growth in full-service medical offerings with a dedicated area for new projects in extruded medical tubing and assembly operations.

Spectrum’s ISO 13485:2016 certified operations in Mexicali are comprised of several buildings totaling 92,000-square-feet, including three Class 8 medical cleanrooms with the newest cleanroom dedicated to new and future customers projects.

The manufacturing operation specializes in extruded medical tubing and assembly services that serve applications such as IV systems, drug delivery, blood management, plasma collection, suction, and irrigation devices. The expanded cleanroom addresses fluid management tube set assembly and secondary operations such as solvent and UV curing, bonding, and tipping.

Spectrum Mexicali currently has over 200 technical, assembly and packaging operators adhering to the highest quality standards and protocols in addition to in-line SPC (statistical process control). Spectrum continues to invest in the facility to support our current and new customers with available cost-effective and high-volume manufacturing operations.
